Jason Holmes has been participating at Du Quoin for over 20 years, and he’s rolling in once again with his 1960 Chevrolet Impala. This red classic is an original survivor from the ‘80s, upgraded with a 350/350 setup, A/C, disc brake conversion, all-new suspension components, and a fresh interior. Sitting on 20-inch Coy wheels, it’s the perfect blend of vintage and modern.

Some cars are more than just machines—they carry stories, memories, and legacies. This 1969 GTO is one of them.
Tommy started the build back in 2013, inspired by Big Chief and the Outlaw street racers. Originally orange, he took the frame off and turned it all black. Known as one of the local burnout kings—whether in the car or on his Harley—Tommy lived life wide open. As a member of the Band of Brothers MC, he spent his time honoring veterans, supporting families, and giving back.
In May of 2023, after leaving a Veteran Memorial in Springfield, Tommy was tragically killed on his bike. His impact was undeniable. Over 4,000 motorcycles joined a 15-mile procession for what became the largest funeral in Springfield history.
Now, his father is finishing what Tommy started—building the GTO the way he would have wanted. With a new blower and plenty of performance upgrades, it’s nearly ready to hit the road again. The plan is to bring it to Du Quoin this May, gathering Tommy’s friends and those who knew him to celebrate his life and legacy.
This isn’t just another car at the show. It’s a tribute, a story, and a piece of something bigger. If you knew Tommy, or just want to witness a build that means more than horsepower, be there.

He’s bringing a sleek black Caddy with a 555 big block Chevy under the hood, pushing 680 horsepower and 712 torque. It’s backed by a 4L80 transmission and a 4:10 gear setup—built for power, built to move.
